That carpet looks like a two-seater. No room for dad anyway.

These are the ones that make you think… hmmm… is Calvin actually imagining this stuff… or is everyone else just blind…

Of course he is imagining…I think thats the whole premise…Calvin imagining all these things and saying and doing things that make no sense to his parents..but makes sense to us since we see all that he imagines (including Hobbes).

Hi,
The concept of a flying carpet is very appropriate for Calvin. It’s based on an actual experience from the Zen Meditation process. There is a point at which you become aware -sense, feel- life around you. Recognizing that life on Earth is only about 50 feet thick, from the roots to the tops of trees, basically, and all the rest of the planet is rock, you can see how this would feel. You are, in fact, standing on a very thin covering of a huge rock. When you sense this, it feels like a thin, magic carpet of life.
Have fun.

Remember imagination was something we all had once as a kid. We didn’t have all these fancy video games and stuff kids have now days. We played amry with just sticks and made the sounds ourselves and the girls spend hours playing with barbie in thier little corner. Our kids are losing out on so much.

Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson

Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.
